David, I asked our Domino Staff about your question. Not sure if you got any help from the domino list but here is his responce. ----------- With respect to Domino on the AS/400, I don't know of any resources. But, unless there is an operating system difference that influences how Domino and Java interact, than that should be a problem. With respect to resources on Domino and Java (regardless of OS), here are some potentially good resources: 1) "Domino 5 Web Programming with XML, Java, and JavaScript" by Randy Tamura, ISBN 0789722755 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0789722755/qid=980954188/sr=1-1/ref=sc_b_1/104-4241483-7376727 Quote from a reviewer on Amazon.com about this book - "As a As400 RPG programmer and Notes Developer, I like to know what Domino/Notes can do and looking for the way of directions and the key elements to bring back-end database to the Internet thru Domino. I like this book because it gives me the directions and shows me the ways to apply Java,JavaScript and Servlet to the Domino Server either from inside Domino Agents or outside Domino" 2) "Domino Development with Java" by Anthony S. Patton, ISBN 1930110049 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1930110049/qid=980954188/sr=1-2/ref=sc_b_2/104-4241483-7376727 3) "Programming Domino 4.6 with Java" by Bob Balaban ISBN ? Out of print, but some reviewers indicated it was good for both 4.6 and 5.0. 4) Notes.net (http://www.notes.net/). You'll have to search a little bit, but this is a great site for Notes-related information. 5) Lotus Developer Network ( http://www.lotus.com/home.nsf/welcome/developernetwork). I don't use this as much as Notes.net, but have still found good stuff at this site (including the Lotus Domino Toolkit for Java/CORBA). 6) Lotus Domino Toolkit for Java/CORBA ( http://www.lotus.com/developers/devbase.nsf/homedata/homejava) 7) AS/400 Toolbox for Java (http://www.as400.ibm.com/toolbox/). In and of itself, this doesn't deal with Domino and the AS/400. However, with the Domino Toolkit for Java, you have a common programmatic tool (Java) that may be of use. Hope this helps! ------------------------------------------------previously----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Folks: Can anyone recommend a good book or site that has information on programming Domino with Java (on or off the 400)? Specificly, I'm interested in how you "Sign" a database (or documents in a database) and manipulate ACLs.
