David, Have you checked out the "C API's" for Domino/Notes? They work in both the WinTel and the AS/400 worlds. And if you do it carefully, you can use the same code for both. There are also C++ API's, but the classes are pretty much just a thin wrapper around the C API's. To keep compatibility between the WinTel and AS/400 worlds, I stuck with the generic C stuff. The API's are pretty extensive. They come with basic examples on how to do stuff, but you have to figure how to put everything together. This is what took me the most time. But then, I didn't know very much about Notes/Domino (almost nothing). And with a couple of weeks of head bashing, I figured out how to read an address book or database with an unknown format and actually get information out of them! <shameless plug> This will be released to the public in March... The Unifier Fax/Messaging Server will work with Notes! And you heard it here first <g> </end plug> Can you do what you want? Don't know for sure, but they are very extensive. And it isn't Java, but with recent developments, I'm not sure what the future Java is. I sure wouldn't bet the future of my company on Java. Specificly, I'm interested in how you "Sign" a database (or documents in a database) and manipulate ACLs.
