Actually,

I was told at the time that Common could not offer this benefit as there was a legal prohibition against selling health insurance across state lines. Which was / is one of the reasons why you see Blue Cross / Blue Shield of ......... Instead of just a single National Blue Cross.

On the other hand, while I have not looked in to it since I am now over the Magic 65 line, this group has been advertising on LinkedIn for the past few months -

This was an idea put forward back in the 90's, to no avail. I don't recall all of the details, but since most of the members were not self-employed, there was not much interest from either the membership or potential insurance agents.
