You defiantly have to pay the $25 to keep the S-Corp alive. You should check with your
CPA for everything else.

Great maybe one of you can answer my question:

I have an S-Corp was doing consulting but now have an employer full
time. I have no sales for 2015. Last year a final 941 was filed but the
business was never closed. Can I just keep it open with no sales? Do I
have to file if i had no sales? Do I have to pay the 25 Corp tax by the
15th?

Thanks,

I am going to +1 this. I have had an S-Corp for many years and it has
alternated between being my primary source of income, when all my
consulting was routed through it, to being a way to keep things
"alive" when I was on a W2 from another organization. Maximum
flexibility.

I was lazier than Gary, though. I used a PEO to handle the issuing of
a paycheck and tax filings. The cost was very reasonable and access
to group rate health care was a plus. The Feds aren't making life
easier for small business owners so the PEO route was an easy way to
avoid having to keep up with the latest tax/regulation changes.

If you want, I have instructions on how to create an S-Corp without
spending a thousand
dollars for someone else to do it. You may want to have someone look
it over but that
shouldn't cost as much to have them create it. You can email me
directly if you want it.

I have instructions on filling out quarterly and yearly taxes that I
file on my own. I
don't pay for a payroll service. I am the only employee in my
corporation so it's very
easy. My personal salary out of the corporation is the same every
month so I calculate
my taxes only once at the beginning of the year. I have a web site
that does the
calculation for me.

I use Quickbooks to keep track of my income and expenses. My CPA
uses the
Quickbooks file to do my taxes.

Let me know if you have any questions.

1099s are not required for S-corps, so I highly forming one.
