All of our code is written in our U.S. locations. I am not philosophically opposed to off-shoring, it just hasn't made sense for us to do it. <6 hour pause> Interestingly enough - I just sat through an executive roundtable where several people testified to the difficulties of outsourcing - this from executives of companies that actually tried it. The consistent report is that for projects requiring less than 10-15 dedicated people, it is very hard to manage and cost justify. The consensus is that it is expensive, troublesome, and the cost trade offs are not one-to-one. One fellow said that their model works, but that they expect to achieve about 70% of the productivity, and have to add in the cost of project management both locally and remotely, plus communications, travel, time synch issues, etc. It can be done effectively, but I think lots of folks are not realizing the savings. If the roundtable is right, the pendulum will swing back. jte -- John Earl | Chief Technology Officer The PowerTech Group 19426 68th Ave. S Seattle, WA 98032 (253) 872-7788 ext. 302 john.earl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx www.powertech.com This email message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the intended recipients and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
