I am one of the many consultants up here in Canada (Toronto, more
specifically) that has also seen the decline in AS/400 contracting
opportunities since last September,1999. I have been luckier than most of
the other contracters and have been only out of work since the end of April,
2000.

I have been in touch with many a head-hunter and they also concur that the
market is flat even for full-time opportunities. They do not know why there
is such a dry spell either.
