That happens where I work, but not in all situations. They do let managers use their discretion, but they are trying to get rid of discretion. Which is backwards if you ask me. . . <Buck> Secondly, She Who Must Be Obeyed would rather that we spent that money at home. Not for me to work more (at home), but for her to play more :-) So a laptop (to transport my work environment around with me) is probably a tough sell. </Buck> My "She Who Must Be Obeyed" gives me pretty open reign when it comes to working from home and buying new PC's. I usually justify it by saying I will start doing more consulting or sell more stuff on eBay;-) Why don't you come and work for Taylorcorp, we got a place for ya and I am sure we can get you a laptop!
