Along with being able to open and copy from multiple members, (like Copy Book members, printer files, display files and other programs), I particularly like the extras feature that brings in all the field names for a file in the program. Also, the PC-like ability to move the cursor down without having to hit page down for the next line or section. Using on-line context sensitive help is a real time-saver. Search on-line in the archives for WDSCI and CODE mailing lists, there was quite a large thread about benefits a few months ago. -----Original Message----- From: Ben_Pforsich@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Ben_Pforsich@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2003 12:53 PM To: CODE/400 Discussion & Support Subject: How can I "wow" developers with CODE in WDSc 5.0? Hi, we're considering rolling out CODE to all other developers' workstations in our shop (about 4 to 6) and would like to hear other people's opinions on which features or specific functions that I should demonstrate to instantly "wow" them? I've been using WDT/400 5.1 for several months and just recently installed WDSc 5.0 with the 5.0.1 fixpack. Another developer was given a copy of the old WDT/400 version and after installing it only used it for about a week. Apparently it was not working 100% for him for some reason and doesn't have much interest in 5.0. I've not been completely converted to CODE yet myself because of its quirks and occasional errors. I admit 5.0.1 is much more stable and has fixed some of these quirks. We're running V5R1 and everyone pretty much uses SEU and SDA to develop now. We all have workstations with at least Windows 2000, 1 GHZ processors and 256MB-512MB RAM each. We'll probably only use CODE and not get much into the Websphere Development. I appreciate any comments or suggestions how to "wow" people. Obvious choices in mind are the whole Designer bit and being able to graphically layout printer files and display files, online help, compiling and debugging. Also, are there any other features that we should be using that I don't know about? Thanks! Ben Pforsich Bob Evans Farms, Inc.
