Hi Matt, The answer to your question should be 'Yes'. The OPTION(*NODEBUGIO)causes stepping to skip I and O specs. I have spoken to one of our compiler developers and she pointed out that if you also have an H spec keyword OPTION(*DEBUGIO), then the H spec option would override the command, and *DEBUGIO would be in effect. Hope this is of help, Vadim Berestetsky Distributed Debugger Development MWHopkins@pdpgroupi nc.com To: CODE/400 Discussion & Support <code400-l@midrange.com> Sent by: cc: code400-l-bounces@m Subject: *NODEBUGIO idrange.com 01/17/2003 11:27 AM Please respond to CODE/400 Discussion & Support When debugging a program, is the *NoDebugIO option what keeps the debugger from stopping after each field is input during a read/chain operation? In other words, if the OPTION(*NODEBUGIO) is specified during compile and you are debugging a program when you get to a chain, will pressing the step button get you to the next statement or will you have to hit step for each field in the file being read?
