Hi John,

It sounds like you may not have all the necessary PTFs on your host.
Please refer to the cover letter of CODE PTF SF62102 which can be viewed:
http://as400service.ibm.com/a_dir/as4ptf.NSF/a18db68aae4a7d81862566ba005d145c/8e8c156d34daa54f862568d50047bca4?OpenDocument&Highlight=2,sf62102

You will see a list of requisite PTFs for the C++ compiler. These are
needed to ensure that the *EVENTF parameter is supported.
Note 2 things:
1) There are MRI PTFs listed (which are usually not on a CUM tape)
2) These PTFs have been available for a long time and are most likely
superseded.

Hope this helps!

This is my first attempt to use CODE to submit C++ compiles to v4r5 -
I'm not having much luck.

CRTCPPMOD runs fine from a green screen.

Using CODE, I can submit a C compile just fine:
    <DJ400>
    <DJ400>CRTCMOD SRCFILE(DJ/QCSRC) SRCMBR(YUK)
         MODULE(DJ/YUK) OPTION(*EVENTF)
    CZM0614 Warnings were issued during compilation.
    CZM0607 Module YUK was created in library DJ on 05/24/02 at 14:49:52.
    <DJ400>
The compile completes (with appriate warnings) and the error list window
pops up just fine.

When I try CPP I get "Unsuccesful command completion":

    <DJ400>CRTCPPMOD SRCFILE(DJ/QCSRC)  SRCMBR(YUK)
         MODULE(*CURLIB/YUK) OPTION  (*EVENTF)
        CRTCPPMOD SRCFILE(DJ/QCSRC) SRCMBR(YUK) MODULE(*CURLIB/YUK)
OPTION(*EVENTF)
        CPD0084 '*EVENTF ' not valid for parameter OPTION.
        CPF0001 Error found on CRTCPPMOD command.
    <DJ400>

*EVENTF is not a valid CRTCPPMOD option, but I cannot eliminate it by
messing with
the ILE C++ profile. Where do I go from here?

I'm using WDT 5.1 and my system is a Server 270 with v4r5 (I cannot upgrade
to v5r1 since
my target customers will not do so, and they have MANY systems in place).
My
workstations
are Windows 2000 SP2.  I don't have a WebSphere Development Server, only
WDT
and
Websphere Development Studio for V4R5.

Thanks - JF

P.S. Is there any definitive information on what all those .EXEs do in
WDT400?

Also: I've tried IXLC - it runs and creates a module but I get:
  Program HELLO was created in library JFOGARTYS on 04/25/02 at 10:02:25.
  com.ibm.as400.access.ObjectDoesNotExistException:
    /QSYS.LIB/QDEVTOOLS.LIB/QCZCNAME.PGM: Object does not exist
I didn't have QDEVTOOLS so I got a copy from IBM, the only SAVF was for
5.1 and wouldn't even unpack on my system.
