Tom, Thinking of the SQL server program we discussed for VARPG last week, if you were using SQL embedded in the HOST RPG, you could simply bracket the date, time and Timestamp fields with 'CHAR(timestamp) as "Timestamp"' right in the SQL and you wouldn't need to worry about the fact that VARPG doesn't support the field types yet. An added benefit is that you would get formatted fields. If these fields are for update, then you'd need to TEST them for validity on the way back in. I hope VARPG will get support for these field types in the NEAR future. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] My little technology demonstration VARPG project uses files that have timestamp data types (DDS type "Z"), and lots of them. Is there an update to VARPG that recognizes them? Or a method to work around the deficiency? Thanks!
