Ok, Hak. I'll be sure to get it on diskette and bring it to work tomorrow
to send to you. Are the XML files that Edmund is talking about the ones you
gave me in your email?

Thanks again for the assistance!

Chris

Chris:

on NT, we have these files in the directory C:\WINNT\IBMCOM:
-cmt.xml
-FVDCTCP.TBL
-Library.xml
-Local.xml
-STRCODE.xml
-CODEServer.xml
-FVDCERRS.LOG <== this is the log I would like to see.

On Wondows 2000, they are in C:\Program Files\IBM\Shared Files:
-cmt.xml
-FVDCTCP.TXT
-Library.xml
-Local.xml
-STRCODE.xml
-CODEServer.xml
-FVDCERRS.LOG.

For XP, I am not sure. It is most likely similar to Windows 2000. If not,
will be something like C:\windows\ibmcom.

I can try to send it if I can find it, Hak. Do you have any idea what the
"comm XML files" are that I was told to remove?

I will try to find the log when I get home. Thanks for the help.

It really is a great product.

Chris:

   could you send me the error log? I have no idea where the error log is ;
just try 'c:\program files\ibm\shared files\'.
After this, try with all files removed from that directory.

Hi all,

Well, I tried the install of V5R1 again last night on my XP with no luck.
The comm daemon will not come up! I keep getting the error about
"evfcsvrd.exe encountered a problem and needs to close."

It's too bad, because I love using it when working from home, but if I
can't
get it to work I might as well uninstall it!

I've read a lot of posts about having problems with the uninstall. Is there
a way to completely uninstall the product to where if they ever get it
working properly, I can reinstall it without having a problem?

If someone knows anything about the evfcsvrd error, I'm not opposed to
trying something else before removing it. Thanks in advance for any input.
