I'm sorry....I'm a little confused. What communications XML files? ha ha.
Could you tell me where to find them? Also, if they're required for
communications, when will they be built?

This was a whole new install on an XP, where I had to update the registry
and call the two setup programs from CD1.

Thanks for the help. I'm glad I'm going through this now, because we're
updating ALL our PCs at work to XP and I want to get all the developers up
on Code/400.

Chris

Chris,
Don't forget to delete your Communications XML files.
If they are corrupt they may be causing evfcsrvd.exe to crash.
You can do this without reinstalling.

Hi all,

Well, I tried the install of V5R1 again last night on my XP with no luck.
The comm daemon will not come up! I keep getting the error about
"evfcsvrd.exe encountered a problem and needs to close."

It's too bad, because I love using it when working from home, but if I
can't
get it to work I might as well uninstall it!

I've read a lot of posts about having problems with the uninstall. Is
there
a way to completely uninstall the product to where if they ever get it
working properly, I can reinstall it without having a problem?

If someone knows anything about the evfcsvrd error, I'm not opposed to
trying something else before removing it. Thanks in advance for any input.
