I have the overtype to insert mode copy/paste problem when I select (with
mouse or Shift arrows) instead of marking text. This seems like a CODE/400
problem and I think there are people who do not use a macro for their
pasting. Is there going to be a fix for this or is it working as deisgned?
I usually use nothing or Alt+L to start and end my blocks so I never
noticed this problem. I think Brian's macros at the midrange.com FAQ
(Programming -> CODE400 -> ReXX Macros) should probably be used instead of
my "Cut or copy the current line if no text selected" answer. His macro
fixes this problem and does about the same thing as far as doing the
cut/copy. I wanted to delete my answer but I did not have authority to do
it. The email address faq-admin@midrange.com (moderator?) came back as
undeliverable so I sent david@midrange.com a message asking him to delete
it. This was on Wednesday but it is still there. Is that how I should go
about deleting my answers. I see the [Trash Answer] option but it says I
do not have authority. It seems like if I add an answer I should be able
to delete it.

Thanks,
Craig

I've created a macro that solves my problem with the paste function.
Basically, the macro traps the current insert/overtype mode and restores it
after the paste function is performed. For anyone else who finds the native
behavior irritating, I've posted the macro on the Rexx Macros FAQ page as
"Enhancement to <Ctrl+V> LP_CLIPPASTE".

Brian

In CodeEdit, I find it irritating that if I copy/paste anything when I'm in
overtype mode I'm automatically switched back to insert mode. Is there a
way
to prevent this from happening and if not, can a fix be added to the
considerations list?

Regards,

Brian
