Larry,

The site that I'm consulting at has me using a W2K machine with Norton
AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.51.847 and V4R5M1 SP1, and I've had no
crashes. Dunno if upgrading either Norton or Windows is an option for you,
but you might want to check that out.

My personal machines are both Win98SE, but I use McAfee on them. No serious
problems with either running Designer V4R5M1 SP1. I used to have terrible
problems with V3R2M2 and V3R2M3. I don't think it was a conflict with
McAfee, though, just Designer crankiness.

I think it's a conflict with Norton because Code400 dies if Norton realtime
file protection is running and it doesn't if it isn't. Believe me, I am not
happy about turning it off. Since we do have a variety of other controls in
place I still do it but only while running Code.

FWIW - Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, 7.50.846, Win98SE, Code400
V4R5M1.

If I leave Code400 up at lunch, the scheduled full file scan crashes, too.
