I think it's a conflict with Norton because Code400 dies if Norton realtime file protection is running and it doesn't if it isn't. Believe me, I am not happy about turning it off. Since we do have a variety of other controls in place I still do it but only while running Code. FWIW - Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition, 7.50.846, Win98SE, Code400 V4R5M1. If I leave Code400 up at lunch, the scheduled full file scan crashes, too. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "Phil" <sublime78ska@yahoo.com> Reply-To: code400-l@midrange.com Date: Fri, 24 Aug 2001 10:53:13 -0400 >I have Norton AntiVirus running all the time. > >Turning it off isn't an option for me - it blocks viruses a few times a >week, and I've been infected once too many times to even consider turning it >off. > >How can you tell that it is a conflict with Norton? > >Phil > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: code400-l-admin@midrange.com >> [mailto:code400-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Larry Paque >> Sent: Friday, August 24, 2001 10:39 AM >> To: code400-l@midrange.com >> Subject: RE: odd and obscure crashes in Designer (the only kind :-) >> >> >> SP2 gets a thumbs up vote from me - it has given me fewer >> designer crashes. >> Win98SE, V4R5M1. >> The ones I still get continue to be of the odd, obscure and >> non-recreatable >> variety. >> >> Is some future version of Code400 going to play nice with Norton >> Antivirus? >> That's my most common crash - forgetting to turn it off before >> starting any >> part of Code.
