Hi Samuel, CODE Editor has two separate sets of cut/copy/paste actions. The first set is the standard Windows Versions: Ctrl+C Copy Ctrl+X Cut Ctrl+V Paste The second set is specific to CODE Editor: Alt+L Mark line Alt+B Mark character Alt+R Mark rectangle Alt+U Unmark Alt+C Copy Alt+O Overlay Alt+D Delete When you mix the two sets, that is when you see the results you mention (marking text is not quite the same thing as selecting text). I find it is best to stick to one set at a time (rather than mixing them). I will find out from the base editor team if this is something they can improve. thanks, Violaine Batthish CODE/400 Project Lead batthish@ca.ibm.com IBMCA(BATTHISH) WDT/400 page: http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400 WDT/400 Support : http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/wdt400/support "Samuel J Lennon" <lennon_s_j@hotmai To: CODE400-L@midrange.com l.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: Insert Inconsistent? code400-l-admin@mi drange.com 08/17/2001 09:49 AM Please respond to code400-l If I select code with Alt-L, then cut it with Ctrl-X, then paste it with Ctrl-C it is insert *after* the line on which the cursor is located. If I do the same thing, but select lines by dragging the cursor, then it is inserted *before* the line with the cursor, given that the cursor is at the left of the line or is in the number area. Does anyone else find this inconsistent? V5R1 with SP2 applied, running on Win 98 SE.
