Sorry for the delay in getting this information to you.
You will not be able to connect the V4R5M1 version of CODE to a V5R1 host.
There are some changes to the V5R1 host backend which date after the last
service pack for 451, which makes the support unavailable.  The CODE backend
is now shipped in library QDEVTOOLS and no longer in QCODE. Also,  there is
added support in V5R1M0 for DHCP clients.  You should just be able to use
*RESOLVE  in the RMTLOCNAME parameter in order to determine the PC location.
The V5R1M0 version of CODE will be able to connect to the various different
host releases. I am working on porting these changes back to V4R5M1, where
we hope to have a service pack out sometime before the end of summer.

Phil,

Thanks for the suggestion - you don't remember which xml files do you?
There's 32 in the directory tree and I'm not sure where to start!  It still
works fine connecting to a V4R3 system....

Not sure if this will help at all.

I had a problem similar to this a month or so ago.  The problem seemed to be
with the xml files.  They got screwed up somehow.  I manually fixed them and
then was able to start over.  My problem was different - I couldn't get into
the communication daemon - but the "serverlist is incomplete - must match
server " message you're getting is very similar.  Try searching for *.xml
files in the wdt directory, and then open them with IE.  See if they look
correct.  Mine had orphaned elements, and after removing them I was able to
get into the communication daemon.

Still no joy I'm afraid - I get an error window on the PC EVF4028E,
connection from 192.168.0.27 has been ended by the daemon.  CODE userid
ROBIN is not allowed to connect.  Leaving the userid out gives the same
message but the userid is a long string of random gibberish.

The communications error log shows:
evfCons.java:[Error] The content of element type "ServerList" is incomplete,
it must match "(Server)+".

Hi Robin,

There is a PTF which will fix your STRCODE problem.  Please load 5722WDS PTF
SI01056.  I will see that the web page gets updated.

As for the empty WDT folders, that is the way they should be.  In V5R1M0,
you will no longer be able to install the product from the host. The folders
will only contains any files that make up part of any service packs
(installed to the iSeries host via PTFs).  There should be client CDs (and I
think a DVD) to install the product.

Hi,

Our shiny new V5R1 box has arrived, but the client bits of Websphere
Development Studio have not.  I'm assured they're on back order, but there's
no delivery date.  I have the directory tree for the host install
tantalisingly in the IFS, but there's nothing in the folders.

Trying to use the V4R5 version of Code I get a message on STRCODE that it's
not a valid STRCODE signature, and I'm getting no joy trying to use the
native server either - just error messages.

Is there a work-around for this?  I'm shuddering at the prospect of having
to go back to SEU....
