Re: Code V4R5 into OS/400 V5R1 won't go

There is a PTF which will fix your STRCODE problem.  Please load 5722WDS
PTF SI01056.  I will see that the web page gets updated.

As for the empty WDT folders, that is the way they should be.  In V5R1M0,
you will no longer be able to install the product from the host. The
folders will only contains any files that make up part of any service packs
(installed to the iSeries host via PTFs).  There should be client CDs (and
I think a DVD) to install the product.

Hi,

Our shiny new V5R1 box has arrived, but the client bits of Websphere
Development Studio have not.  I'm assured they're on back order, but
there's
no delivery date.  I have the directory tree for the host install
tantalisingly in the IFS, but there's nothing in the folders.

Trying to use the V4R5 version of Code I get a message on STRCODE that it's
not a valid STRCODE signature, and I'm getting no joy trying to use the
native server either - just error messages.

Is there a work-around for this?  I'm shuddering at the prospect of having
to go back to SEU....
