Hello John,
The syntax checker for ILE RPG on the host is the same as the
syntax checker for ILE RPG on CODE/400. The problem of the editor
complaining when a character field larger than 32767 bytes is created, also
happens on the host with SEU. However this has been fixed in V5R1.
The support for /Include directive was added in the host as a PTF
for V4R4. CODE picked up this fix in release V5R1.
My suggestion is to upgrade to V5R1.

Subject: How current is Code with V4R5 RPG Compiler?

I'm running Code V451 with SP1. The editor is complaining (RNF0501)
whenever
I attempt to create a character field larger than 32767 bytes, even though
the RPG compiler (V450) supports up to 65535 bytes.

Also, the lack of support for the /Include directive is becoming
increasingly troublesome. We need something done about this. Right now we
have a situation where our compiler, pre-compiler, and editing tools don't
support the same features, and it's very frustrating.

At least SEU used to keep current with the compiler - before Code became
the
strategic tool. Now, the only editor we have that supports 100% of the
compiler options is Notepad! Come on IBM, let's get a service pack out to
address these problems. They're too important to wait for a new release.
