It doesn't really help much. As soon as you cut, the filter below get's
processed immediately, then when you paste, the pasted filter is processed
anyway. The only thing that reduces the pain is to turn on caching.

I have big projects. <g>

Besides, I really get annoyed with all of the "windowitise" of the toolset
to begin with. I don't want a new window for each project - that just wastes
time when you have to navigate between them.

I think the filter list tree view should be enhanced so that each project is
a node off the root, and all filters are defined under their respective
project node. Better yet, look to the VAJ repository as your inspiration for
a better way to do it - but I suspect that might be asking for a bit much.
