Chris,

If a program did not contain OPM source debug data, it cannot be put under
debug.

I guess the reason it worked for you in the previous version was that you
invoke the debugger when editor the RPG source. So this RPG program is
added to debugger and put under debug. But when you call the program, you
could changed the program name to the OPM CL program.

In the newer release, we change the design of the invocation of debugger
from CODE editor. Since the file name of the source is not necessarily the
program name you want to debug, we give the user the chance to specify the
program they want to debug. And we also call this program for the user
automatically. But if the startup program is non-debuggable, it runs into
your situation.

It maybe better if we could actually give user the chance to input both the
name of the program he/she wants to debug, and the program he/she wants to
call to invoke the application. It will be in the todo list for our next
release.

In order to walk around it, you could do the followings:
Use Action -> Debug -> Running application to invoke the Attach dialog.
Input the job name (or //jobnumber) and the program you want to debug
(in your case, the RPG program), and press Attach.
When a message "Start you application..." comes up, click OK to dismiss
   it.
Go to AS/400 emulator, and call your startup program (in your case, the
   OPM CL program).

Subject: Debugger question...

Hi all,

I just loaded the new Code/400 and when I try to go into debug for my RPG
program via a CL program it tells me that the CL program cannot be added to
the ILE environment. It said it can't do it because it does not contain OPM
source debug data. I was able to do this with the older version. I need
to have the CLP call my RPG program, because of overrides, file copies,
etc. Can someone tell me what's going on and how I can get around it?
Thanks!
