SEU has not been updated since V6 - and never will be. That is a LONG time. It doesn't understand any of the new syntax in COBOL or RPG.

It is a 1980s tool that we should have abandoned years ago. The price of Code/400, WDSC, and lately RDi made it difficult for many to switch. With VS and the Code for i extension both being free there is no longer an excuse to live with steam powered technology.

IBM is not likely to discontinue SEU completely - although it could happen if a future system change required major investment to keep it working - but as I said it is long past time programmers abandoned it. The productivity gains from alone should make it a no brainer.

Hello,
Sorry, but i don't understand what this claim means:
"Cos you _really_ need to put SEU in your past!"
Why we need to put SEU in our past? Should this mean, that SEU stops work
with the next release of IBM i OS ?

Kindly Regards
Roman

Those of you who are still stuck with SEU due the price of RDi might be
