We have converted all our OPM COBOL programs to ILE. When we initially ran them after compile as ILE, they all worked, but we are questioning if we have the right parameters for activation group. All the CICS programs are compiled with Activation Group of QILE. All of the batch programs are compiled with Activation Group *CALLER. We are wondering if the *CALLER programs are actually reverting to an OPM default activation group and if so, are we losing the benefits of ILE. All of our programs are standalone. We never group programs together so we want to do the same in ILE(at least we think we do). When any of our batch programs were not compiled as *CALLER, the job running these programs abended when doing a SQL COMMIT because it thinks commitment control has not been started. If we recompile these same programs as *CALLER then COMMIT works.
I tried compiling one program that called multiple other programs as *NEW but this did not work either. When I looked at the job running, it said it was using *DFTACTGRP.
I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has about the Activation Groups.
