Subject: [COBOL400-L] ASSIGN clause
Hi,
I'm guessing this is obvious to a COBOL person :
I had this :
SELECT CUSTMAST ASSIGN TO CUSTMAST.
So I compiled and got this :
Message . . . . : Device type not found in ASSIGN clause.
Assumed DISK.
So I changed to this :
SELECT CUSTMAST ASSIGN TO DISK.
And the editor says this :
ASSIGN clause system-name not found/invalid. Line rejected.
I can put PRINTER in place of DISK, not that that's what I want.
What's wrong?
Thanks
