Adrienne,

Step #1 would be to try to use an appropriate subject line, please, _especially_ when replying to a digest. This helps make it easier to track the thread for all of us. (More especially when it's your own thread!)

Step #2 would be to try to trim the digests when you reply to them. Not only will it drastically reduce the size, but it also makes it easier to reply to. Digests include .sigs which can begin with a line consisting of nothing but '-- ', i.e., dash-dash-blank. Many e-mail clients automatically drop anything in the quoted reply that comes after such a .sig line. If the first message in a digest has such a .sig line, it's almost impossible to reply to messages that come later in the same digest, although there are hoops to jump through if you know what they are and you have the right tools. (I managed to make this one work even though your message came after one with a troubling .sig, eh?)

I tried the QWCLOBJ call and cannot compile. Noe I have not used the
list API's before - but I have used others - am I missing a binding dir
or something in the compile - beloww is the compile error message I get.
BTW I am relatively new to the iSeries - but very willing to learn - if
you can point me in the right direction - I would appreciate it.

Step #3, when calling this API, call it as an external program, not as a procedure. That ought to get you past the error below.
