This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- Hi all I am facing a strange problem. I want data in some of the variable to be used / manipulated in 3 different programs. I declared all these variable in a copybook with external clause and included this copybook to the programs. Everything went fine. One bad day, we were informed that copybooks should not be used (some restrictions). So, we moved the information in the copybook completely to the programs and removed the inclusion of copybook from the program. Now, if any one program say PGM1 is changed in calculation (no changes made in declaration area), either we get a Activation group conflict error or decimal data error in other programs say PGM2 or PGM3. If we compile, PGM2 and PGM3 again, even though there is no change in PGM2 or PGM3, then no error occurs. Can anybody throw light on this strange phenomenon? Are we missing something here.
