Actually, Chris, the biggest problem was that I wasn't writing the
indicators out to the control record.  I needed an INDICATORS clause on my
WRITE to format CTL.

At the same time, I lost several hours because of not one, but TWO
assumptions.  Rather than waste a lot of time on it, let's just say that
INDARA is not required in the DDS, and if you use INDARA, you must specify
"-SI" on your workstation definition.

In any event, my firt subfile program is working, although I'm having some
real problems with READ NEXT MODIFIED.  I'll post more as I get time.
