Thanks Domenico & Bob, I found out what my problem was. I still don't know how it fixed the problem, but it's fixed. There is a STARTCL that is called when the system is IPL'd. In the middle of this cl is when the program, STRGEN, is called that has ASCCOM1 as the CURRENT LIBRARY. In the STARTCL, ASCCOM1 is added to the end of the library list. Somehow, when this program is started, it changes the CURRENT LIBRARY. It's not in any CL that I can find though. Apparently after the STARTCL is run, the AUTOMATIC JOBS are run. It's these AUTOMATIC JOBS that have the CURRENT LIBRARY as ASCCOM1. We changed the STARTCL to have the call to STRGEN to be the last call in the CL and when the system was IPL'd, there wasn't any object lock anymore and ASCCOM1 wasn't in any of the 4 jobs as the CURRENT LIBRARY. I don't know how it did it, but it did. Thanks for all your help. By the way, I had already checked the user profiles. I couldn't find anywhere that the CURRENT LIBRARY was getting changed. I checked and there aren't any QCMDEXEC on this system. The job description is how I found out that they were all AUTOMATIC JOBS started at the same time. Sorry it took so long to get back to yall, my computer at home got "fried" this weekend. It's not recognizing that I have a "C" drive any more. I'll have lots of fun when I get home today.
