I never got into it, but you'll be pleased to note that with the ANSI '9?
standard it is supposed to be back as one of the mandatory features. Without it
you can't claim the ANSI label.

I don't know about your version because ours was heavily customized (before it
got sanitized that is) the part that made me die laughing when I first saw it
was the routine that handled resolution of a deadly-embrace conflict between a
user function and a system function which was called xxxxTheUser. There were
other gems as well like calling the "Undertaker" to get rid of "dead" processes.
