Bruce;
Just out of curiosity, why off line? If it is something proprietary to you
or IBM, I understand that, if not???
I use embedded SQL to access BLOBs, UDTs, and datalinks, in RPG, but it
would be interesting, to me anyway, to know another solution.

If you need to use _Ropen to open a file containing BLOBs, UDTs, and (yes)
datalinks then please contact me offline at bvining@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Your current approach of simply using undocumented options also means
you're working in an unsupported environment from an IBM point of view.
Assuming that you want your code to be supported I can help you along that
path. Note that, as I'm sure you've found, opening is not the same as using
:)

I have a need to carry out an _Ropen on a file that contains datalink
fields and have not so far been able to find a way of doing this.
I recently managed to get _Ropen to allow me to open files containing
BLOBs and SQL UDTs by means of the (apparently undocumented?) open
options "lobptrs=Y, sqludt=Y", which I stumbled across in Google, but
so far I've not found anything equivalent that allows the use of
datalinks. I guess at "datalink=Y" and "dlink=Y" but no joy.
Anyone know the answer?
Thanks
