variable fails ...

The create-command in your original message specified
SRCSTMF('./syscsrc/mod_name.cpp'). This is what you would do if
your current directory is /my_dir/my_project/. In that context,
'./include' resolves to /my_dir/include/.

You have not told us what absolute path name you used in the
environment variable, but let me take this wild-ass guess. If
you specified '/my_dir/my_project/include/syscinc' and the source
statement specifies 'syscinc/sys006i.hpp', the compiler will look
for '/my_dir/my_project/include/syscinc/syscinc/sys006i.hpp'.
