The *EXT message queue only applies to interactive jobs. From a batch job you
need
send the message to a user or workstation message queue.

Subject: [C400-L] Sending inquiry message in batch job

Hi!

I know, this is not a typical C-question. But in this group are the
programmers.

I'm sending an inquiry-message by API QMHSNDPM with type *INQ to the
external message-queue *EXT and receive the answer wirh API QMHRCVPM. When
the job is running interactive, the user can enter a reply for the
inquiry-message. But running in batch, the default reply was send. This is
documented by IBM in the API guide.

But how do I send an inquiry in a batch-job? Like SNDUSRMSG does it. I've
tried QMHSNDM (nonprogram message), but this API didn't send the message to
the external message queue.
