Almost there huh? I have never used this particular api but have used others that write to spooled files and concepts are pretty much the same. In the DLTOLDSPLF example you looked at before is the code showing how to get a pointer to the accessible data in the user space. Basically you should use QUSPTRUS api. Once you have the pointer you're still in for some work as you need to know the layout of the structures and which offsets to use to get to the data you want. The exact information for QSPGETSP is at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/apis/QSPGETSP.htm Refer to the "Format of the User Space" section. Once you understand the structure layout (format) of the user space data, you should still print or take a look at QSYSINC/H(QSPGETSP) header file so you can declare pointers to structs defined in this header file and refer to the actual variable names within the structures once you have the pointers set correctly using appropriate offsets. I know, clear as mud, but that is the basic process you should go through. How do I get the data from the API QPSPGETSP? I call the function, so I assume it places the data in the user space? I basically want to extract the ( readable ) text from the spool file. How do I point to it inside the user space? Does anybody have any good examples? TIA!
