Im expecting to get some When a program dies abnormally on the iSeries (for ILE/C) you don't get a core dump as such, what you get is either a nice CPF/MCH error message in the job log or on the status line. If your system() call is going to generate output (for example system("dsppfm output(*print)")) then the output for that system command, if it can generate output, will be in a spoolfile. If you want the output from a system call to appear on the screen, them it's going to be much more involved. If you are expecting the command you are calling in the system() function to 'take over the screen' and work as if the user had typed the command at the command line, then this will not work, and again is much more involved than simply calling system(). Have you put a printf() after the call to system() to see if you get that outputted too? --phil
