You can use MS Query via excel to get the BOM info if you have ODBC access to the file structure. Fastest, easiest, and its refreshable from the spreadsheet too.

Ok, you're not a programmer.
I know that I have some people here quite familiar with the bill of materials.
I know they are also quite familiar with:
"Excel Spreadsheets from RPG with POI"
http://www.scottklement.com/presentations/#RPGHSSF

These people have switched quite a bit of output to excel spreadsheets.
I can ask them if they've done both.

Has anyone ever found an easy way to get the fully indented bill of material to excel? I have tried for years to get someone to write me something to get the Bom - like BOM300 and costed bom CST300 to excel for use by everyone from Sales to Mfg. I have downloaded BOM200 and
CST280 - I can get them to pdf. I can get them to excel with a tool called spoolflex - but cannot get it in a usable format no matter what
mapping I try. I am not a programmer -- I'm in Accounting. I have
also used query to pull in the MBM bill of material table - but then you manually or macro adding the indent - making sure to follow through changing the quantities needed based on parents usage. Takes way too
much time to do it manually if doing more than one finished good. We
are LX 8.3.4 but have been trying to find something for several versions now.
