I understand that upgrading the OS has some issues, but I was away from BPCS when there would have been much discussion about this.
I've done some searching here, but so far have missed any helpful guidance for our situation.
I don't need lots of grimy details at this point - more like "there is no way to make it run for x reason(s)" or "it can be done, but here is what it will cost" (at a high level).
Michael,
As you may have guessed, if you change the processor feature or serial
number of the host machine, you are going to have to enter into
discussions with Infor. The price to come back to be covered can be
astronomical or just unreasonable - sometimes it depends upon how
they're doing that quarter/year.
I've been involved with numerous interactions with Infor from multiple
angles due to multiple business reasons. The likely scenario you will
run into is that they will charge you a fee to restore business with
them and will require you to get back onto maintenance. The best case
for your company would be if they would be interested in upgrading to
the latest version of BPCS.
