Hello Dick

If you do file joining then Minute/Sec may create problem in some cases. What we have done is report written based on ITH sequence number for transaction type 'T'. For trf. these would be consecutive numbers hence it gives always correct result.

Regards,

subject: [BPCS-L] Analysis of transfers

We have a need to analyze transfers of parts based upon the combination of from-location and to-location.

Transfers are recorded, however, in two pieces - the "from" piece and the "To". Joining them by part number, date, absolute quantity hour minute and second produces inaccurate results.

Does anyone have an effective way to accomplish such a joining?

We are on LX V8.3.4

Join the ITH file to itself. The first instance of course is a negative

transfer and the from-location, the second instance is a positive transfer

and the to-location, the item number matches AND the second sequence

number is equal to the first sequence number plus one, and the date is the

same.

We're on 6.00.04 but I can't imagine that things have changed that much.

I hope it helps.

Dick,

We are on 8.3.2 so not sure if ITH changes in your version.

I would think if you create a file of T transactions with negative quantities that will give you the "From" transactions. You should then be able to closely match them with the corresponding same but positive quantities matched on Part Number (TPROD), Workstation (THWS), User (THUSER) and Date (TTDTE) to get the "To" transactions. Taking it down to the minute/second may miss matches if the "From" and "To" click over the second.

Because we had a problem with transfers across facilities, where the items

costed differently both places, we had the T of ITH go into TR General

Ledger, with full journal detail. If you look at the various description

info columns of GJD, they show part # and other details.

We 405 CD, and rarely need to transfer the same part multiple times in same

day.
