Thanks Christy-appreciate your help

I'm know nothing of the system at all : ( I only got my access Friday and with other systems I've used there was always some sort of user manual to refer to, to give you an overview

Appreciate the help and will see what can figure out-sink or swim :)

thanks

Hi Dan

You will not find any free downloadable user guides on the internet.

There is standard documentation that should be stored on your iSeries, it isn't exactly user guides but will give you some information. I am not sure how familiar with iSeries (AS400) you are from your mail.....

Look for the object BPCSDOC on your iSeries. There are various members that you can look at and get information about BPCS modules:

eg.

Member Type Text
SSALOG00 TXT AS/400 Logic Manual
SSAPLN39 TXT Sales Performance Management Planner
SSARUNHT TXT Generic Help Text
SSARUN01 TXT Shop Floor Control
SSARUN02 TXT Manufacturing Data Management
SSARUN03 TXT Inventory Management
SSARUN04 TXT Configurable Order Management
SSARUN05 TXT Accounts Receivable

You can also get help from specific programs once you are in there in the normal 'help text' way.

You are talking about green screen so I am assuming that you are on Mixed Mode and not Client Server ? Either way the BPCSDOC should exist (at least they do from V6.004 on). I think that the dataareas SSASYS and
SSASYS2 also hold information re. version, so you could look at those.

Hope that helps !

Good luck with the task ahead, you have a big job on your hands if you have never used BPCS and have no one there to talk you through anything :-(

Regards
Christy

Hi Rob

I'm just going off the opening message as I try open the program-this is my first time working with this software and can't seem to get details from anyone where I'm based, on it. Its rather unfamiliar to me as I am used to working on SAP but need to get up to speed on this system now

I presumed that was the release version on the opening screen but could well be wrong-the icon is named AS400 and am told the software is BPCS-that's about as much info I'm able to ge-no one can give me a version name or number.

thanks

No problem-appreciate all the help as I'm finding it impossible to get any sort of end user guide from either internet or physical copy where I am

On SAP system I'm used to, you could get the version under the help icon, but no such luck with this, and the help function is disabled-is there not an icon that I've glanced over that will give you the version you are working on?

thanks
