All good suggestions so far. I had our programmer set it up so that the system blocks access to all users once the month end jobs are initiated, followed by a full system backup, month end close and another backup. Has been working without issue for over 2 years now. We came in on a weekend prior to this to run our semi annual physical inventory, and all of the beginning balances were wrong. Somebody was browsing the inventory records and locked it up. Lots of people got their Saturday back, but was a lesson in what not to do.

There are actually a group of files that it tries to allocate before it will
run.
Having everyone out of BPCS is the easiest way to insure they are all
available.

Must be ran dedicated. Sometimes a user will get back in a program that
uses IIM.

Hi,

I am doing Month end for 31 Aug, 2012. But failed. I found the log in
wrksplf INV901C ended code 20. The Job exceeded end severity.

Can anyone help? Thanks
