As others have stated - all the information you need resides in ITH file.

We only keep ITH for 5 months but we build couple of tables daily from ITH
file to capture historical usage.

First file is rolling 12 months usage along with YTD and Last year usage
based on our fiscal year. For short term planning, we also build similar
file on a rolling 10 week (weekly buckets). Both of these files are
summarized at item/facility/warehouse level.

We have a custom file which stores transactions types we consider as usage
transactions.

Both of these files take only about a minute or two to build during our
day-end process. We are on v8.1 of BPCS and generate about 50,000
transactions a day in ITH file.

Our end-user really like the information comes out from these two files.
We have built some pretty basic reports from these two files as numbers
are arranged into monthly and weekly bucket without worrying about the
volume of transactions from ITH and its retention period.
Hope this helps.
