When I am asked how to shut down the system from users at ME/YE close I suggest that they rename BPCSMENU then no one can sign on to the environment by accident.

The usual recommended IT/Close activities comprise of the following:

1. Rename BPCSMENU
2. Complete data back-up of the BPCS environment
3. Execute all BPCS/Lx ME close programs.
4. Complete data back-up of the BPCS environment
5. Execute all BPCS/Lx Year-end Programs (when Applicable)
6. Complete data back-up of the BPCS environment
7. Rename BPCSMENU back from step 1 above

Some of the back-ups might seem redundant but if there is ever a close program that failed to execute properly you only have to go back one step to restore from a logical starting point and continue.

If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
