Set the defaults on SYS800 MRP System Parameters screen. (see below). You
can then override it for each item/fac combination if you are set up for
multi facility or each item if planning globally.

Demand Code to be used before the Time Fence 1 4 (1,2,3,4)

Time Fence (Periods for Repetitive, Days for Other) 7 30

Demand Code to be used after the Time Fence 1 1 (1,2,3,4)

Orders consume forecast basically takes the greater of orders and forecast

Eg. Orders for period 1 = 50

Forecast for period 1 = 75

Plan for 75

You can affect the impact differently before and after the time fence.

In the example above, we use orders only for the first 7 days, then the
greater of the 2 after.

subject: [BPCS-L] MRP Method 405 CD

We want to start using MRP100 forecasting, which I looked into years ago,

but now I forget some nuances.

MRP300 says our method is that "Orders Consume Forecast"

We just want to be sure that both orders and forecast will dictate

requirements.

Help claims that method is set in SYS800 parameters, but I can't find the

screen that has this.

Code Description

1 Greater of forecasts or customer orders

(consumption of the forecast by demand)

2 Sum of (customer) orders and forecasts

(augmenting demand)

3 Forecasts order only

(anticipating demand)

4 Customer orders only

I think method 2 makes more sense vs. our current needs.
