An undocumented feature of BPCS is that it has lots of useful data in the files that don't show up on any of the vanilla reports or screens.

Some managers find entries getting into the General Ledger and question "Where did this come from? What did we do to cause this?" Researching that answer can be a major ordeal for anyone who does not know that the GL entries contain within the record, some clarity of pointers back tracing where the data came from.

I suspect this is a feature to help make tech support people appear to be miracle workers. We made a new report to rectify this. Now our auditors can back trace where entries to General Ledger came from.
