Unfortunately no.  We too are on 405CD and have researched this...  Some
things that have or may help:
. Using Phantom numbers (where shop orders blow thru the Phantom BOM
level, but the engineers can still maintain the level)
. Using MRP540 'Planned Shop Order Release' ~if the first level SO
doesn't match/come from a planned order, then you would need to run MRP
in between entering the first shop order and releasing the lower level
orders; also need to be able to identify the lower level parts by
planner code, facility, warehouse, or part number...
