We are on V6.04. I second everything that Norman says about ROBOT/Scheduler.
Capturing BPCS jobs is really easy and there is no need to worry about setting
up data areas etc as it does it all for you. I have dozens of BPCS jobs that I
captured and that now run automatically. We too have Robot practically running
all our daily and monthly jobs as well as jobs that need to run hourly or only
on certains days of the period. It's well worth a look.

Have you looked into using HelpSystems ROBOT/Scheduler? That product is
fantastic. There is a command, RBTSTRLRN, that will capture all of your
environment information from user ID to LIBL to data areas being changed and
allow you to schedule "ANY" batch job. I have ROBOT/Scheduler practically
running my whole system from INV920 running nightly, custom cleanup jobs,
including reorganize jobs, month end processing, it even allows you to automate
a full system backup. I highly recommend it....if you couldn't tell.

[BPCS-L] BPCS V8.2.01 - Automate System Reorganization.

Pls. assist if possible.

From time to time we need to run the clean-up on the systems due to
communication problems. This requires us to run SYS 59 (System
Reorganization), options 3: Reset On Order Allocated, 5: Clean-up ECL &
ECS
Files and 6: Clean-up Allocations.

This works easy if you are signed-into the environment, but what if you
want to schedule it to run late at night and it's not called from within
the environment, what then?

I have created a CL Program to call that 3 programs, and with the JobScdE
used a Job Description used in that environment, as well as a UserProfile
that has authorization to that programs. I have not hardcoded the library
where this programs resides in as the JobDescription or UserProfile is
supposed to pick it up - Well, it doesn't.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello

As a suggestion, you can try to set up from SYS501C a your own simply
procedure to allow, based on User/Workstation + Program name the list of
the needed OVRPRTF OVRSCOPE(*JOB) + DLTOVR to set up your needs, and
override the OVRPRTF FILE(*PRTF)from SSASYS *DTAARA LX does.

Davide

Subject: [BPCS-L] Newbie needs printer file help

I am working in ERP LX (8.3). I have changed the packing list format
(OLM591O) to print portrait. Works great interactively when I do an
override printer file on the command line.

Where do I change the 'system' printer control so the batch print works?
Also, where do I indicate different printers for various warehouse users
in different states?

Thank you,
