Not all BPCS software will let you drive inventory or allocations negative.In our reality, we are making parts that go through several steps or sub-assemblies, where the intermediate parts have a short life span. Something is made, then used up. Our labor tickets are entered in batches, and the possibility exists that we will post a ticket that uses some component, that comes into existence via a ticket that is processed a little later. BPCS needs to be able to take various inventory and allocations negative, theory being that at the end of the day when you all caught up data processing, nothing is negative.
