1. No, the item (parent) that has the setup and machine time does not have the correct this level cost. It includes the entire setup cost for the entire lot. 2. The parent item this level cost includes all setup cost for the lot plus the cost of the machine time for one item. These costs are being collected in a bucket for fixed overhead. There are no previous level costs for this bucket. Two other cost buckets are being used to capture variable overhead and material which are being entered on the BOM. Each of these buckets has a previous level cost but no cost in this level. I deleted all costs associated with the buckets before performing another cost roll and got the same results. Does the item that has the set-up and machine time end up with the correct "this level" unit cost ? If yes, then the set-up time is being correctly spread out over the lot size. If no, then it is not. 2. The parent with too much cost: does it have this level cost as well as previous level cost? If the item with the set-up time is the child, then the parent's cost associated with that set-up time will be in the previous level cost bucket. Perhaps the MIS up-loads hit "this level" and the cost rollups hit previous level ?? > > From: DonDelzeit@xxxxxxxxxxx > Date: 2005/10/03 Mon PM 04:09:57 EDT > To: bpcs-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [BPCS-L] Setup Costs > > We are using BPCS V6.0.02. > > I have set up an item with both setup time and machine time in the routing. > I am using a basis of per 100.
