Steve... In our case, the job runs as a prestart job in QCMN... You need to restart the prestart job. This can be done by either ending and restarting the subsystem (not really practical for us since it's qcmn) or you can end the ALAUNCH jobs and restart the prestart job. I've put the steps for that here. 1. wrksbsd qcmn 2. option 5 to display 3. choose opt 10 - prestart jobs (your option may be different... look for "prestart jobs") 4. copy down the job name that relates to your ALAUNCH job - in my case it is QGPL/STRALAUNCH 5. return to a command line 6. type STRPJ and prompt it. 7. fill in the subsystem, job and library and press enter. This will restart the job using the same information as when you start the subsystem. Hopefully this will get the job back to running correctly, regardless of what commands you use to actually start the ALAUNCH program. Big mistake. He is the "listener" that program ALAUNCH starts. He is a communication deamon. Starts TCLAYER, validates User ID and Password, calls SERVERTP to download translation tables to the client, starts application and submits another copy of itself (accordingly to job description TCPIPJOBD). So now, whenever I try to call him (traditionally, interactive, etc); he is responding with a message: 10000 - SNDPGMMSG MSGID(SYS4096) MSGF(*LIBL/SSAZ02) MSGDTA(' ') Start of the TCLAYER failed .
