We are on 6.04 version of BPCS and the system will read the move and que times that you set. For example if you have a part that needs to weld and you have set the move time as 2 days and the que time as 2 days the system reads backwards so if the finished product is due on an assembly line say September 7, then the due date for the weld order would be August 31 however if you have some kind of move time or que time set for the finished good then it takes those into account and your weld order would then become past due which means that it would be due now and show that you need to expedite it. You can manually changed the due dates and depending on when or what date you set on your Mrp Gen and how often you run it will depend on if the system automatically reschedules that date. Routing question (Marc Graff) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- message: 1 date: Mon, 30 Aug 2004 09:59:16 -0700 from: "Marc Graff" <mgraff@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> subject: Routing question In BPCS (version 4.05 CD), do the routings operations get compressed for a job that is past due? For example: I have a job that should have been released on 8/23 and I can release it today, 8/30. The routing are is follows: Will BPCS ignore the move and queue times and compress them to zero? Will it compress actual run times as well? For MRP systems I have used before, move and queue times could be set at an estimated and minimum move and queue time. The estimated time was used to plan orders under 'normal' circumstances and the minimum was the hard constraint when these times were compressed due to an order being late. Run time was also a hard constraint that could not be violated. Any help would be appreciated.sign me a BPCS novice. Marc Graff Production Control Manager States Industries, Inc.
